Metropolis Events is located on Level 4, 3 Southgate Avenue Southbank.
The entrance to the Panorama Room is on the Upper Promenade (St Kilda Road level), on the outer side of the Southgate Precinct, across from Quay West Suites. Given our central location, multiple transportation options are available to reach our venue. Please refer to the directions provided below for each mode of transport.
The closest car park is the Wilson Car Park Southgate, enter via Southgate Ave or City Road.
Directions to the Panorama entrance from the carpark are below:
> Exit the car park, take the lift to the “upper podium level”
> When exiting the lift lobby, turn right and proceed to the St Kilda Rd end of Southgate Precinct
> Pass ‘The Deck’ Restaurant on your right, exit the Precinct and turn a sharp right
> The Metropolis Panorama Room entrance is on the exterior of the building opposite Quay West Suites
The closest drop-off point is on Southgate Avenue between Quay West Suites and Hamer Hall.
> Walk towards Yarra River and take the spiral staircase to the top
> Continue straight ahead past the entrance to the Southgate complex and The Deck Restaurant
> The Metropolis Panorama Room entrance is situated to the right on the exterior of the Southgate complex, opposite Jarrah Café at Quay West Suites
The closest taxi rank is at Flinders Street Station, opposite Federation Square.
> Exit Flinders Street Station via Flinders Walk (Yarra River side of the station)
> Cross the Southbank pedestrian bridge
> Turn left at the end of the bridge and walk along the Promenade in front of the Southgate complex until you reach the complex entrance (between Bear Brass and Cups N Cones)
> Proceed up the escalator to the Upper Level (two levels on the escalator)
> Turn left at Blue Train Café and proceed past the Metropolis Events escalator entrance and continue to the St Kilda Rd end of the Southgate complex
> Pass The Deck Restaurant on your right, exit the complex and take an immediate right turn around The Deck
>The Metropolis entrance is on the exterior of the building opposite Jarrah Café at Quay West Suites
The Aviary Room entrance is located on the Upper Level of the Southgate complex.
The closest car park is the Wilson Car Park Southgate, which can be entered via Southgate Ave or City Road.
Directions to the Aviary Room entrance from the carpark are below:
>Take the car park lift to the “upper podium level”
>Turn right upon exiting the lift on the Upper Level, and the Metropolis escalator entrance is directly in front of you
The closest drop-off point is between Quay West Suites and Hamer Hall on Southgate Avenue.
> Walk towards the Yarra River and proceed up the spiral staircase to the top. At the top of the staircase, enter the Southgate complex (you will enter on the Upper Level)
> The escalators to Metropolis Events are directly in front of you, between Miyako Restaurant and Blue Train
The closest one is Flinders Street Station, opposite Federation Square.

> Cross the Southbank pedestrian bridge
> Enter the Southgate complex and proceed up the escalators or lift to the “Upper Level”.

The Southgate car park is a public car park that is owned and operated by Wilson Parking.
