Real Weddings: Eden & Jimmy

Where the garden can bloom indoors and above the city

Every wedding tells a story, and Jimmy & Eden’s was a celebration of spring brought indoors. Choosing Metropolis Events as their backdrop, the couple transformed the space with sweeping draping, glowing chandeliers and touches of soft pink, creating a setting that felt romantic, immersive and distinctly their own.

The draping became a defining feature of the room, flowing across the ceiling in soft layers and creating a sense of intimacy within the expansive space. Draped fabric stretched overhead in sweeping curves, softening the architecture and framing the room without taking away from the city beyond the windows. Suspended between the layers, cascading chandeliers added another layer of texture and light, bringing warmth and movement to the space. Their glow gave the room a romantic quality as the celebration moved from day into evening.

Spring came through in the floral details, with hydrangeas, orchids and roses adding delicate touches of pink throughout the room. The florals were thoughtfully placed among the tables and styling, bringing softness and colour to the refined palette. Together with the draping and candlelight, they created the feeling of a garden brought inside rather than a traditional garden wedding.

The contrast between the softness of the styling and the modern city setting made the space feel considered and contemporary. Above the Yarra, the chandeliers illuminated the room while Melbourne became part of the backdrop, creating a celebration that felt connected to the city while still carrying the romance of spring.

Jimmy & Eden’s wedding showed that you don’t need a garden or vineyard to capture the feeling of spring. With the right details, the garden can bloom indoors and above the city.
